Q: Do I need an appointment?
A: Yes, grooming is done by appointment at Star Struck.  In fact, we limit the number of appointments each day in order to give the highest quality time and attention your pet deserves.

Q: How soon can I get an appointment with you?
A:
Due to the increasing demand for our services, Star Struck is generally booked 2 weeks in advance.  Occasionally, an appointment may become available sooner due to cancellations or reschedules.  Spring, summer and the holiday seasons are the busiest times, so please call well ahead of time.  Pre-booking a standing appointment is the best way to ensure your pet gets the grooming they need, and at YOUR convenience, without the wait.

Q: Do you groom cats?
A:Yes, we do! In fact, we enjoy doing cats as well as dogs. We will bathe, hand dry, clip nails, clean ears, brush and comb, and remove most undercoat which will reduce shedding and help prevent matting, while still keeping them comfortable in hot or cold weather. We do beautiful lion cuts on cats or whatever is necessary for the type of coat your cat has.  Contrary to popular belief, many cats do benefit from regular grooming, and while it may be a bit scary to some, most tolerate the process quite well. At we handle cats as a team to minimize the stress on them. One holds and comforts them while the other does the grooming. This has proven to work very well for the groomers and the cats.  Cats don’t like to be restrained with leads, so using a team approach makes them more comfortable with the process.

Q: How long do I leave my pet there?
A:
We generally require only 2-3 hours, usually a bit longer if you bring multiple pets.  If there is {unexpected} extensive work to be done, or a prior appointment is particularly difficult and uncooperative, we may take a bit longer, but this only happens occasionally.  Star Struck also has a charming boutique and we are often called on to handle retail customers while grooming.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A:
If you must cancel an appointment, please give at least 24 hours notice.  Because we schedule a limited number of appointments, pets arriving more than 20 minutes late may need to be rescheduled.  A first no-show will be forgiven because we understand that sometimes things happen out of our control. The second no-show will be charged a $30 no-show fee for the missed appointment and pre-pay any future appointments, and that is non-refundable if you no-show. A $25 fee will be assessed for all returned checks. Payment of check and fee must be fulfilled in cash.

Q: Can I stay with my pet during the grooming process?
A:
With few certain exceptions, the answer is NO.  It is important for the groomer and your pet to bond and develop mutual understanding and trust.  When the owner is present the pet is so focused on the owner that it disrupts this process and makes it difficult and dangerous for both the groomer and your pet.
